Softball Recap: Winslow Has No Trouble Against Snowflake

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Winslow walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Snowflake Lobos on Saturday as they made off with a 15-7 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kyah Wilcox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kendra Ybarra was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ara Leonard, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Winslow and bumps their season record up to 19-13. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Snowflake, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.

As of now, neither Winslow nor the Lobos have any future games scheduled.
