Baseball Recap: North Newton Takes a Loss

Kouts hit North Newton with a seven-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 16-2 to the Mustangs & Fillies. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Mustangs & Fillies: they've now lost three in a row.

North Newton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Crabtree, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Kouts, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Newton will venture away from home to challenge South Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kouts, they will face off against Washington Township at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
