Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West). They blew past the Chaparral Bobcats 20-6 on Friday. Considering the Trojans have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Heidi Harrington and Laynie Davis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Harrington tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Davis pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Harrington went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Davis scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Harrington has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, West let Karsen Fuessel and Marlee Chase run wild. Fuessel scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Chase scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Chase a new career-high in RBI (three). Mabri Warren was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Chaparral has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
