Baseball Recap: Hillside Hornets vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs

After flying high against Eno River last Friday, Hillside came back down to earth. The Hillside Hornets fell just short of the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs by a score of 10-8 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hillside of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Wednesday.

Jeremiah Rankins led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Salcedo, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

As for Southeast Raleigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fuquay - Varina at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fuquay - Varina will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Southeast Raleigh surely won't give up without a fight.
