Academy of the Sacred Heart dropped down to 12-2 on Friday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mt. Carmel Cubs by a score of 2-1. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cubs when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Mt. Carmel, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since November 14, 2024.

Mt. Carmel had a senior duo take command as Mia Lopez had 13 digs and Emma Palermo had six digs and two aces. Lopez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Academy of the Sacred Heart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Catholic - N.I. on the 19th. As for Mt. Carmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Teurlings Catholic on the 19th.
