Softball Recap: Downey Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Downey was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of El Rancho last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Downey Vikings fell just short of the Charter Oak Chargers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Hazel Renteria made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Downey's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Downey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against California on the 4th. Charter Oak will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on El Dorado at 3:30 p.m. on March 11th.
