Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Cross Raiders on Thursday.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adah Tuckwiller, who posted 12 points. That was a full 37.5% of Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kelsey Threewitts was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

It was another big night for Tina Chiwata, who went 13 for 18 en route to 28 points for North Cross. With that strong performance, Chiwata is now averaging an impressive 16.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mercedes Herrera Arias, who had eight points.
