Softball Game Preview: Hebron Hawks vs. Portage Indians

The Hebron Hawks will challenge the Portage Indians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hebron is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Rensselaer Central, falling 14-5.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Portage was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 11-1 to New Prairie.

Portage saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cora Kingrey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Portage has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Hebron, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Hebron took their victory against Portage when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
