Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Parish Patriots vs. Tioga Indians

Franklin Parish and Tioga are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Franklin Parish Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Tioga Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Franklin Parish took a blow against Peabody, falling 83-39. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Warhorses are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Tioga against West Ouachita on Friday as the team secured a 72-34 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Tioga is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Franklin Parish, they dropped their record down to 15-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Franklin Parish against Tioga when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Parish since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
