Basketball Recap: Vista Grande Comes Up Short

Vista Grande was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 74-50 to the Maricopa Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-61 back in January.

Maricopa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gary Hoxie, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. Maricopa is 6-3 when Hoxie posts ten or more rebounds, but 2-11 otherwise. Mason Wyatt was another key player, going 9-for-18 to rack up 17 points.

Vista Grande's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Maricopa, their record now sits at 8-14.

Vista Grande has already played their next contest, a 72-44 defeat against Casa Grande on the 13th. As for Maricopa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-52 loss against Mountain View on the 13th.
