Baseball Recap: Phoenix Comes Up Short

Henley hit Phoenix with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 10-9. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Alex Charlton made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Parent, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Henley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Coming up, Phoenix is taking a road trip to square off against Mazama at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Klamath Union at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pelicans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
