Basketball Recap: Alex Fedorchuk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wayland-Cohocton over Naples

Wayland-Cohocton was the 48-40 winner over Naples when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Naples Big Green Machines on Tuesday.

Wayland-Cohocton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Fedorchuk, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Fedorchuk's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Bauer, who scored six points and 13 boards.

Wayland-Cohocton's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Naples, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayland-Cohocton will host Livonia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Livonia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Naples, they will be playing at home against Campbell-Savona at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
