Basketball Recap: Branford's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Branford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past the Santa Fe Raiders with a 45-40 win on Friday. The Buccaneers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Branford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cloey Criggall led the charge by putting up 12 points along with eight steals and six assists. Criggall is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Amyah James was another key player, posting 14 points.

Branford's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lafayette the next time they take the court. Branford will head out to face Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Santa Fe will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
