Basketball Recap: Marion Center Comes Up Short

Marion Center lost against Clarion Area back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marion Center Stingers fell 66-53 to the Clarion Area Bobcats. The Stingers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Marion Center still got an impressive performance from Cameron Pack, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and six assists. Pack has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ian Kutsch, who posted eight points.

Nathan Frederick was a one-man wrecking crew for Clarion Area as he put up 18 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Mason Burford, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Marion Center's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Clarion Area, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Marion Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-53 defeat against River Valley on the 2nd. As for Clarion Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 42-35 victory against DuBois Central Catholic on the 7th.
