Tompkins was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Katy Tigers, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for Tompkins: when they faced off against Katy back in February, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Eloy Ferrer and Filipe Nunes scored both of Tompkins' goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Tompkins' record is now 10-7-3. As for Katy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-4 record this season.
