Baseball Game Preview: Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts vs. Pontiac Indians

The Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts will face off against the Pontiac Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Illinois Valley Central didn't have quite enough to beat Eureka and fell 4-3.

Illinois Valley Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Griggs, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Brody Garceau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Pontiac ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over El Paso-Gridley. The game marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Illinois Valley Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Pontiac, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Illinois Valley Central took their victory against Pontiac in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Grey Ghosts repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
