Basketball Recap: Ripon Christian Snaps 17-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Ripon Christian entered their contest against Ripon on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Ripon Christian Knights fell 60-48 to the Ripon Indians. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ripon Christian still got an impressive performance from Jake Vander Veen, who posted 26 points. Vander Veen has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Mason Tameling was another key player, putting up ten points.

Ripon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Madoski led the charge by going 8 for 14 en route to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Lefebvre, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Ripon Christian's loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5. As for Ripon, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
