Basketball Recap: Ridgeway Piles Up the Points Against Craigmont

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kirby, Ridgeway was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They breezed past the Craigmont Chiefs to the tune of 53-14. The Roadrunners pushed the score to 34-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chiefs had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridgeway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nakiya Burnett, who went 9-for-12 en route to 18 points and eight assists. Those 18 points gave Burnett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaraia Sisk, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 16 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Ridgeway was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Ridgeway's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Craigmont, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Ridgeway won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lakeland Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Craigmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
