Softball Recap: Helix Takes a Loss

Helix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Hills Wolf Pack. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly four runs.

Lauren Farace was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ta'Tiannah Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Helix's record now sits at 4-3. As for West Hills, their record is now 8-3-1.

Helix has already played their next game, a 21-0 win against El Cajon Valley on the 2nd. As for West Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against Steele Canyon on the 2nd.
