Recap: Tolono Unity Rockets vs. Rantoul Eagles

The Tolono Unity Rockets won the last time they faced the Rantoul Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Tolono Unity took down Rantoul 54-39. Given Tolono Unity's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Rantoul is ranked 583rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tolono Unity had a senior duo take command as Addison Ray dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds and Raegen Stringer scored 14 points along with nine steals and five assists. That's the first time this season that Ray pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Little, who scored eight points.

Tolono Unity has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Rantoul, they bumped their record down to 5-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tolono Unity will take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bloomington Central Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Rantoul, they will be playing at home against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
