Softball Recap: Jonathan Alder Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Jonathan Alder never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Macy Pruitt looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jonathan Alder let Raegan Tremayne and Katelyn Rihl run wild. Tremayne went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Rihl went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Rihl has posted since back in March. Lauren Ruetsch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jonathan Alder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jonathan Alder has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Hilliard Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Jonathan Alder has already played their next contest, a 13-0 victory against Independence on the 15th. As for Hilliard Davidson, they will challenge Thomas Worthington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
