Basketball Recap: Gorham Fayette Comes Up Short

Gorham Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stryker Panthers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Gorham Fayette still got an impressive performance from Xander Goble, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Gorham Fayette's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Carter Lavinder was another key player, putting up seven points.

Gorham Fayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Stryker, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Gorham Fayette will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Montpelier at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stryker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bryan at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
