Basketball Recap: Lakeland Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lakeland extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Janae Carter. The Lakeland Cavaliers came out on top against the New Kent Trojans by a score of 47-38 on Monday thanks in part to Carter, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 21 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeland's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrianna Paiz, who posted six points and three steals. Paiz is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Lakeland's record is now 3-0. As for New Kent, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lakeland will venture away from home to take on Nansemond River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Kent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-41 victory against York on the 10th.
