Basketball Recap: Pensacola Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pensacola Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 68-49 to the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Conquerors earlier this season, when they won 50-36.

West Florida Baptist Academy found their leader in sophomore Olivia Pearce, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 26 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearce has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Peoples, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Pensacola Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

When Pensacola Christian Academy and West Florida Baptist Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pensacola Christian Academy will try to stop Central Christian's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Florida Baptist Academy will take on Gulf Pointe Latin and their seven-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
