Recap: Munroe Bobcats vs. L.E.A.D. Academy Lions
The Munroe Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 47-38 to L.E.A.D. Academy. Munroe found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
Munroe's loss came despite strong showings from Mya Mccullar and Traniha Jackson. Mccullar dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds, while Jackson scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Mccullar continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead L.E.A.D. Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Harold, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that Harold posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Harold, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Munroe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Munroe will take on Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.5 points per game. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pensacola Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pensacola Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
