Volleyball Recap: East Falls Short Against Ranked Laramie

East faced Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Plainsmen, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Plainsmen recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Hannah Janes paced East's offense, picking up seven kills. Janes got some help from Charli Cameron and her 15 assists. Marlee Monjaras and Madi Jackson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Laramie was led to victory by Ashlyn Stucky and Sia Taufa. Stucky had seven digs and five aces, while Taufa had ten digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Stucky a new career-high.

East's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Laramie, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-3.

East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against South on the 1st. As for Laramie, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Thunder Basin on the 1st.
