Soccer Recap: Hickory Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hickory can now relate to. They fell just short of the Kempsville Chiefs by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Hickory's goal came courtesy of Audrey Rooney, which was the first she's scored this season.

Hickory's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5-2. As for Kempsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3-1.

Hickory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kempsville, they will square off against Ocean Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kempsville will need to watch out since Ocean Lakes have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests.
