Volleyball Recap: King's Knights vs. Granite Falls Tigers
After flying high against Bear Creek last Thursday, King came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Granite Falls Tigers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.
While King's ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-21.
Lucy Mortimer paced King's offense, picking up ten kills. Mortimer got some help from Sophie Ciuca and her 12 assists. Mortimer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
King's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Granite Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
King's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Cedar Park Christian on the 2nd. Granite Falls has also already played their next contest (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
