Softball Recap: Easton Area Extends Winning Streak to Six

Easton Area extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 15-9 in the process. They never let the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on May 7th.

Not much got past Audrey Rinda, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Nazareth Area off the board. Rinda has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Thalia Burns, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Fleming, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Nazareth Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Nazareth Area's side, Kylie Grover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

As of now, neither Easton Area nor the Blue Eagles have any future games scheduled.
