Preview: San Pasqual Academy Dragons vs. Warner Wildcats
After two games on the road, San Pasqual Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Warner Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
San Pasqual Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Calexico Mission for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-20 victory on the road. That 36 points margin sets a new team best for San Pasqual Academy this season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Warner gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against West Shores as Warner made off with a 43-22 win. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Warner relied on the efforts of Anthony Porras, who scored ten points along with eight steals, and Angel Carachure, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Carachure is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Antonio Amado was another key contributor, scoring three points along with six steals and five rebounds.
The win got San Pasqual Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Warner, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for San Pasqual Academy against Warner when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-22 win. Will San Pasqual Academy repeat their success, or does Warner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
