Football Recap: Desert Mirage Piles Up the Points Against Mendez

The Desert Mirage RAMS were fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past the Mendez Jaguars 44-13. The result was nothing new for the RAMS, who have now won three contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

Omar Martinez produced another solid performance rushing for 160 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries.

Martinez was just one part of a punishing run game: Desert Mirage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 429 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 229 rushing yards in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Desert Mirage now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mendez, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Mirage will venture away from home to challenge Twentynine Palms at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Mendez, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roybal at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
