The Rock Hill Blue Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the McKinney Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. McKinney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Rock Hill, who comes in off a win.
Rock Hill was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over Plano. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blue Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Madilynn Grossman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aliyana Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Reed, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Rock Hill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for McKinney's offense. They came up short against Plano East on Tuesday, falling 12-0. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
Rock Hill's record is now 5-9. As for McKinney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18-1.
McKinney's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rock Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for McKinney, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Rock Hill's hitters?
Rock Hill might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from McKinney when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Rock Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
