Basketball Recap: Chamois Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chamois posted their closest win since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past the New Bloomfield Wildcats 45-42. The 45-point effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

When it comes to explaining why New Bloomfield lost, don't look at Jacob Fuhriman. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 14 en route to 23 points and five steals. Fuhriman has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trenton Boessen, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Chamois, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. As for New Bloomfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chamois will venture away from home to face off against Vienna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Bloomfield and Jamestown will compete for holiday cheer at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
