Baseball Game Preview: Oak Grove Eagles vs. Lincoln Lions

For the second straight game, Oak Grove will face off against Lincoln. The Eagles will welcome the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Grove's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Oak Grove after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-1 to Lincoln. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

For Lincoln's part, Andres Garcia spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. Garcia has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lincoln got a massive performance out of Lorenzo Collazo, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Collazo has posted since back in March. Ryan Bernwanger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Lincoln's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Oak Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.
