Softball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft fell victim to San Diego and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the San Diego Vaqueros, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Greyhounds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Taft saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ansleigh Soliz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for San Diego, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Taft and San Diego could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Taft will face off against Ingleside at 12:00 p.m. on Monday down 411 places (565 vs. 154). Similarly, San Diego (ranked 535th) will meet Bishop (ranked 93rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
