Volleyball Recap: Cambridge Takes Down Newman in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Cambridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Newman on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Gryphons sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-13.

Cambridge had a senior duo take command as Sofia Shultz had 17 digs and Fatimata Barboza had five digs and four aces.

Cambridge was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Cambridge's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Newman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Cambridge will square off against Covenant Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
