Volleyball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. West County Bulldogs
Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 11-7-1 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the West County Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Alivia Boyer paced Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Boyer got some help from Hallie Abney and her 21 assists. Abney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
As for West County, their record now sits at 6-14-1. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 5th (when they won 3-0).
West County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lacey LaMarr, who had six digs and four aces. Those four aces gave LaMarr a new career-high.
The teams wasted no time getting back out on the court as they've already faced off again: they played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
