While Lawson's win against Carrollton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.

Lawson's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Carrollton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.
