Football Game Preview: Frank J. Macchiarola Sharks vs. Lehman Lions

After each having a week off, the Frank J. Macchiarola Sharks and the Lehman Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Frank J. Macchiarola has five straight wins, Lehman has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Frank J. Macchiarola's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They breezed past Jay to the tune of 40-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Sharks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Hawks are ranked 514th).

Frank J. Macchiarola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ahmed Cisse led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Cisse has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Misla, who threw for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Lehman came up short against Lane two weeks ago, falling 28-6.

Frank J. Macchiarola's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lehman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Frank J. Macchiarola couldn't quite get it done against Lehman in their previous meeting back in October of 2015 as they fell 26-14. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
