Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Parkersburg Catholic on Friday, Catholic Central came back down to earth. The Catholic Central Crusaders fell just short of the Caldwell Redskins by a score of 46-43 on Saturday. The contest marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Caldwell to victory were Dylan Schott and Carter Wheeldin. Schott went 6 of 12 en route to 22 points, while Wheeldin almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Wheeldin has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Guiler Preston, who posted three points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Catholic Central fell to 5-1. As for Caldwell, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Catholic Central will host Buckeye Local at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic Central is facing Buckeye Local at the right time seeing as Buckeye Local is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Caldwell will take on Belpre in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on December 21st.
