While McCann Tech's  victory against Franklin County Tech wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Eagles  6-5. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Brody Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Those  runs were  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dylan Turner, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Those  runs marked the first that  he has  scored this season.  Lukas Rylander was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  double.
McCann Tech's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Franklin County Tech, their loss was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 4-2.
 Looking ahead, McCann Tech will take on Lee at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Franklin County Tech, they will face off against Smith Vo-Tech at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
