The Skyline Eagles will square off against the Brighton Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Skyline's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Brighton has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Skyline made easy work of Corner Canyon and carried off a 16-6 victory.
Abbie Whipple made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Whipple was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabelle Rupp, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Maya Jacobsen, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Skyline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Brighton came up short against Jordan on Wednesday and fell 9-4.
Cynthia Knowlton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Rowland, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Brighton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Brighton, though, as they've only averaged .205. Will they be able to contain Skyline's hitters?
