Baseball Recap: Folsom Comes Up Short

Folsom had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 8-15 to make it four. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocklin Thunder. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Folsom saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo Orozco, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Orozco has hit this season.

As for Rocklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Rocklin's side, Blake Andre looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Andre has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Dylan Nusz was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nick Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Folsom will take on rival Whitney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rocklin is set to challenge their familiar foe Davis Sr. at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Thunder 2.5, the Blue Devils 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
