Phillipsburg takes loss despite strong efforts from Caden Seems and Rhett Shelton

Recap: Phillipsburg Panthers vs. Hoisington Cardinals

The Phillipsburg Panthers struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Hoisington Cardinals had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Phillipsburg lost to Hoisington at home by a decisive 67-50 margin. Phillipsburg has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Phillipsburg had strong showings from Rhett Shelton, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Caden Seems, who scored ten points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Babcock, who scored five points.

Hoisington found their leader in underclassman Mason Martin, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jason Robinson, who scored 11 points along with eight assists.

Phillipsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hoisington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Phillipsburg will head out on the road to square off against Smith Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoisington, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hesston at 7:30 p.m.
