Softball Game Preview: Bloomington Bruins vs. Vista del Lago Ravens

The Bloomington Bruins will head out to face off against the Vista del Lago Ravens at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Bloomington can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Wednesday. They fell just short of Arroyo Valley by a score of 10-9.

Alyssa Ceballos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Jablonski, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Vista del Lago lost 12-3 to Woodcrest Christian on Thursday.

Jazlyn Veyna was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Mares, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Everything went Bloomington's way against Vista del Lago in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Bloomington made off with a 17-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
