Softball Recap: Wilson Hall Gets the Win

Wilson Hall had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 5-10 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Carolina Academy Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Barons have posted since April 10, 2024.

Addie Griffin and Caroline Moorman did most of the damage at the plate: Griffin went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Moorman went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave Moorman a new career-high.

As for Carolina Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 13th.

On Carolina Academy's side, Natalie Braveboy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Carlie Anne Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Wilson Hall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against Laurence Manning Academy on the 13th. As for Carolina Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Clarendon Hall on the 6th.
