Baseball Preview: Green County Dragons vs. Washington County Commanders
The Green County Dragons will square off against the Washington County Commanders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Green County, who comes in off a win.
Green County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Caverna as Green County made off with a 15-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Cash Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Green County got a massive performance out of Andrew Houk, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave Houk a new career-high. Drew Squires was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Green County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caverna only posted an OBP of .100.
Meanwhile, Washington County lost 12-3 to Spencer County on Wednesday. The Commanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Washington County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jontate Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another was Alex Blandford, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Green County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-0-2.
