Baseball Recap: Bellingham Blackhawks vs. Holliston Panthers
Bellingham extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-16 in the process. They came up short against the Holliston Panthers, falling 19-6. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Eric Johnston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Doug Walton, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one double.
As for Holliston, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Holliston's side, Lucas Engel looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Kafka, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Sam Schoenberg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
