Soccer Game Preview: Greenfield vs. Cape Fear Academy

The Greenfield Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Greenfield's victory against Arendell Parrott Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Greenfield had just enough and edged out Arendell Parrott Academy 2-1 on Tuesday.

Darcy Dean was the driving force of Greenfield's attack as she scored both of Greenfield's goals, bringing her season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, Cape Fear Academy and New Hanover's game two weeks ago was close at halftime, but Cape Fear Academy turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Cape Fear Academy never let New Hanover get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Cape Fear Academy now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Greenfield, their record is now 5-1.

Greenfield might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Cape Fear Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Greenfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
