Basketball Recap: Northmont Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Butler

Butler typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Northmont proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Butler Aviators by a score of 60-53. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Thunderbolts' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Aviators are ranked 117th).

Northmont is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Butler, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1.

Northmont will host Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butler, they will head out to challenge Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
